Andreas van Staden wins APSA award from the Section on Human Rights

Andreas van Staden, a graduate associate of LAPA and a PhD student in the Woodrow Wilson School has won the best paper award from the Section on Human Rights of the American Political Science Association. The citation of the section reads:

Andreas von Staden, “Assessing the Impact of the Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights on Domestic Human Rights Practices" is a beautifully written, well researched, and skillfully analyzed paper on an under-researched topic—the actual record of compliance of states with human rights court judgments, here the ECHR. The paper provides a detailed analysis of what states actually do and don’t do in response to judgments.
