Rob Hunter, PhD student in the Politics Department at Princeton University, will present his paper on "Miranda and the Boundaries of Judicial Influence." The paper discusses the ways in which courts can and do affect political change. Focusing on their courts' legal competencies in contrast with purely political ones, Rob elaborates a way of thinking about how courts change their interpretation of the constitution over time and what authorizes them to do this.
