Scott Horton is a contributor to Harper's Magazine and writes the No Comment blog. He has been an international human rights lawyer (starting with being the lawyer for many Russian dissidents, including the Sakharovs), a partner with Patterson Belknap (where he did many of the major oil deals in Central Asia) and active in the NYC Bar Association (chairing the human rights and international law committees recently). He teaches as an adjunct at Columbia Law School. These days he specializes in war on terror issues (including torture and military contracting) as well as the politicization of the US Department of Justice (see his blogposts on Lee Siegelman). He's always fascinating and has things to say that are not yet (but will be) in the news.
