Gary J. Bass is an associate professor of politics and international affairs at Princeton. He is the author of Stay the Hand of Vengeance: The Politics of War Crimes Tribunals, as well as articles and book chapters on international justice. He is completing a book manuscript on humanitarian intervention and the origins of the modern human rights movement. Before coming to Princeton, he was a reporter for The Economist. He has also written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, and other publications.
