Kwame Anthony Appiah is Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Philosophy and the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University. He has worked in philosophy of mind and language, ethics and political philosophy as well as in African and African American Studies. Among his publications are In My Father's House: Africa in the Philosophy of Culture, Color Conscious: The Political Morality of Race (with Amy Gutmann), The Ethics of Identity and Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a World of Strangers. He is currently interested in the relation between philosophical ethics and other disciplines: among them political theory, literary studies and psychology.
