I am a fourth-year graduate student in the history department with specialties in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. Having completed my Master's thesis on the collapse of the Stalinist Gulag in the Magadan region, I am now writing my dissertation on the Soviet penal system in general under Nikita Khrushchev (1953-1964). |
