Barbara C. BuckinxPolitics, PhD candidate
Corwin Hall |
Barbara Buckinx is a graduate student in the Department of Politics. Her dissertation explores the problem of global political injustice, and articulates an approach to normative global governance that has at its core the republican conception of freedom as non-domination. Barbara argues that states are generally not successful in limiting the power of private actors in the global sphere, and that global domination must instead be addressed by global public, legal and political, institutions. She offers recommendations for policy and institutional reform in light of the values implied by the ideal of non-domination. |
