While at LAPA Nicos E. Stavropoulosis is a University Lecturer in Legal Theory at the University of Oxford and Fellow of Mansfield College. He received a law degree from the University of Athens, an LL.M. degree from the University of London, and a D.Phil. degree from the University of Oxford. Before joining the Oxford Law Faculty in 1999, he practiced law in Athens and served for two years as Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Greece. He is the author of Objectivity in Law (Clarendon Press, 1996). His teaching and research focus on the philosophy of law, with particular emphasis on the bearing of philosophy of language and mind on legal theory. Dr. Stavropoulos will be a Fellow during the fall semester, when he will be writing a book on the nature of legal concepts. |
