LAPA mourns the loss of Devah Pager

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and long-time colleague, Devah Pager. For many years, Devah ran and invigorated the LAPA program’s Crime and Punishment Workshop, drawing from her own award-winning and widely cited research, including her book, Marked: Race, Crime, and Finding Work in an Era of Mass Incarceration. But she will be missed most by her friends for the community she brought to everyone she encountered at Princeton. Her enthusiasm, empathy, curiosity, and friendship are irreplaceable.
